An Indian head massage is a relaxing massage that is applied to the back, neck, shoulders, head and face. It is a non-invasive therapy that allows the person to keep their clothes on, this allows the treatment to be performed anywhere and at any time, even during the lunch hour.
The therapist uses a range of different movements, including deep kneading and compression movements over the neck, shoulder and scalp areas. In addition, the therapist will also gently stimulate and stroke pressure points on the face and head.
The Healthy Practice has adapted its Indian head massage by applying essential oils directly onto the skin, resulting in a deeper and more effective treatment.
Indian head massages are particularly good for reducing the effects of stress and tension. They also help increase joint mobility and flexibility in the neck and shoulders, improve blood circulation and lymphatic flow, free knots of muscular tension, relax connective tissue, and aids in the elimination of accumulated toxins and waste products.
